The doctors and midwives at
Women’s Health Associates are here for you during this difficult time. Our goal
is to maintain your continuity of care while keeping you and your family safe.
Please read the following very important information.
All routine annual
examinations are on hold. We will only be seeing patients for urgent
and pregnancy-related matters. If you are currently scheduled for a
routine check-up, please call us to reschedule for a later date. Many problems
may still require an in-person visit and we have physicians available Monday
through Friday for those visits.
Our incredible staff is
working relentlessly to clean every surface on a continual basis. In all cases,
we will make every effort to move you in and out of waiting areas quickly and
may ask you to wait in your car instead of the waiting room.
Telehealth
Our practice is now using telehealth
for your convenience and safety. All possible visits will be moved to
telehealth. These telehealth appointments will be scheduled like any other
appointment, but you will receive an email with a link and instructions before
your appointment time. The link will allow you to check in before your
appointment, and will lead you to your provider’s “waiting room” until your
video chat starts.
You can access telehealth
on a mobile phone by downloading the app given in the instructions. You can
also access the link by a computer or tablet. Most insurance companies are now
on board with telehealth visit coverage and coverage is very good for most.
However, you are responsible for verifying your coverage for telehealth with
your insurance provider under your specific plan.
To our pregnant
patients
We recognize that this is
a time of great stress for you. We will do everything we can to continue
guiding you through a healthy pregnancy. Coronavirus does not seem to be any
more dangerous to pregnant women or their unborn children than the general
population. That said, there are still many unknowns about this virus and
pregnancy is in itself a high-risk condition. Therefore, we recommend strict
adherence to social distancing and common-sense infection control.
We will keep the normal
pregnancy visit schedule as best as possible, but some “routine” visits may be
delayed, especially if you have any symptoms. We may also provide some
pregnancy visits by telehealth. For now, we recommend that every pregnant
patient purchase a home blood pressure monitor, available through Amazon and
other retailers at a relatively low cost. If you need a prescription for one,
please contact the office. This will enable you to stay at home and report your
blood pressure to us. Office staff can guide you through this if
necessary.
If you are ill
If you have had potential
COVID-19 contact or have any symptoms, such as temperature over 99.5, cold
symptoms, etc., please do not come to our offices. Call us and we will
determine your need to be seen in the office and will give specific
instructions on where/how that will take place.
We may need to modify
these instructions over time as things change. Please contact us with any
questions or concerns via phone or the patient portal. We promise to be here
for you at every step.
Wishing you and your
family the best of health,
The care providers and
staff of Women’s Health Associates
