Birth Control / Family Planning Options

While there are many well-known methods of preventing pregnancy on the market, we'd like you to introduce you to NEXPLANON, a hormone-releasing birth control implant that lasts for up to three years.

NEXPLANON: The simple implant that lasts for up to 3 years**

If you are not ready for a permanent method of birth control but would like a long-acting option, NEXPLANON may be right for you.

NEXPLANON is a hormone-releasing birth control implant that is placed under the skin in a discreet location on the inside of the upper arm where it remains effective for up to 3 years.

When placed correctly, NEXPLANON:

  • Prevents pregnancy in several ways: by stopping the release of eggs from the ovaries; by thickening the mucus in your cervix, which can prevent sperm from reaching the egg; and by causing changes to the lining of your uterus
  • Eliminates the need for daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly medication
  • Is extremely effective, with fewer than 1 pregnancy per 100 women being reported when NEXPLANON has been used for 1 year.
For details, visit NEXPLANON online.

If you are interested in NEXPLANON, please contact Women's Health Associates.

**NEXPLANON must be removed by the end of the third year and may be replaced by a new NEXPLANON at the time of removal, if continued contraceptive protection is desired.
